It is well known that Eastern civilizations have different ways of healing than the Western ones. They use some of the methods for keeping a good health in everyday life, like meditations for example. Everything they do with their bodies and minds matter. But, there are certain hand positions that we make, even unconsciously, that can be considered as mudras. Generally speaking, mudras represent a symbolic gesture in Indian and Buddhist religions that may be performed with entire body involved, but usually they are reduced only to certain hand positions. Each and every one of them has its significance and healing point, thus they are called the healing hands. There are basic and advanced, compact mudras. one of those that people unconsciously do is this one:

It was proven by NAS researches that these hand positions cause the same brain activity as the usage of foreign language. Each part of our hands is connected to a certain part of the body, so the mudras are usually used for balancing the body energy, fighting against bad emotions and states of mind, and gaining the perfect health and even reaching nirvana and enlightenment.
